Nu Greek Street

I will admit that I was one of the curious who walked up and down Georgia Street the day after the stupid hockey riots and although I love Vancouver, I didn't feel the need to write on the boarded windows of the Bay.  I don't think I could have made it through the crowds anyway.  I did however, fight my way through the crowds to the Nu Greek Street food cart. I am so happy that I did!

Nu Greek Street is the third cart for some of my favorite vendors- the Ips. (I miss the croissants!) They are now working with Nu restaurant and offering up Greek food.

I have been to the cart twice now and both times ordered the Lamb Pita. They make the pitas themselves and grill them up at the time of order:

The pita is amazing! They add some olive oil and salt to the pita while grilling and it was so fresh and tasty.

Honestly, everything on here was perfect- both times. The satsiki was fresh and really flavourful. I decided to skip on the onions just to give my co workers a bit of a break. The lamb was moist and not chewy at all. Skewers are so easy to over cook but these turned out really well. This meal rates high in the portability of street food as well. Wrapped well enough that it could travel but not too fussy to try and unwrap and eat.

I didn't try any of the sides or salads, but I like that you can get veggies and dips and a salad.

I hope that Nu Greek Street sticks as I really liked the food and am a big Greek fan!  The cart now makes me want to try the sit down restaurant.
